Your Favorite "I Love You"

     This is a really popular choice and because of that I really wanted to find something else but I can't lie to myself-this is my favorite "I love you."

     Se Ryung expresses the depth of her love and devotion to Seung Yoo far better than just saying "I love you" ever could.

30 Day Korean Drama Challenge: Day 11

Your Favorite Dialogue 

Director Kim: "I didn't come here to drink tea."

DA: "Then what is it?"

Director Kim: "Miss Dong Ah, I came to seduce you."

Dong Ah laughs

Director Kim: "Answer?"

Dong Ah: "Thank you."

Director Kim: "You're welcome."

   Dong Ah and Director Kim are really amazing characters-without them I don't think I would have liked Wild Romance as much as I did. I would love to watch a drama centered on them-they are complete opposites but yet they fit together so well. I included a lot more of their dialogue below because it's really funny. I love this piece of dialogue because it kind of describes their entire relationship. Director Kim is finally admitting he likes her and he does it in the most hysterical way possible. He speaks the words "I came to seduce you" in such an emotionless and serious tone that he could be giving a meeting or reading the phone book aloud.

Dong Ah: "And you were before?"

Eun Jae casts Dong Ah a death look

Eun Jae: "If I were a man I would have fallen in love with her too."

Dong Ah: "Eun Jae, did you . . . ? Could it be that you're on that side? Without you knowing?"

Eun Jae: "What side?"

Dong Ah pulls her shirt down to reveal her shoulder

Dong Ah: "How do you feel right now?"

Eun Jae: "I want to put you down on the floor and. . ."

Dong Ah quickly pulls her shirt up and wraps her cardigan around herself tighter

Eun Jae: ". . . then I want to strangle you."

Director Kim: "Image?"

Dong Ah: "Yeah. When you see something it reminds you of me, what is it?"

Director Kim: "There is none."

Dong Ah: "No way."

Director Kim: "Ah"

Dong Ah: What is it?

Director Kim: "When I went to rent a video, and saw erotic movies, I got reminded of you."

Dong Ah: "You watch erotic movies too?"

Director Kim jumps up suddenly

Director Kim: "N-no! I just saw the title as I was passing by."

Dong Ah: "Do you want me to tell you my 5 favorite erotic movies so far? Number 1 is . . ."

Director Kim wipes sweat from his brow

Director Kim: "Dong Ah, that's not it"

Dong Ah: "Shall I show you “Vinyl Floor” on a rainy day?"

Dong Ah: "What about uniforms?"

Director Kim: "It's not the time to talk about. . ."

Dong Ah: "A nurse's uniform or a stewardess uniform."

Reporter Go: "That's killer."

Director Kim: "I don't like such things."

Dong Ah: "What about sailor's uniforms then?"

Director Kim: "I'm not interested."

Reporter Go: "Director Kim! is there something wrong with you? Hey! Can I smack him once?"

Dong Ah: "Really, do you not have any fantasies about that."

Director Kim: "I don't."

Dong Ah: "What are all the books I have read then? The book lied to me!"

Eun Jae: "So, what does a first kiss feel like?"

Dong Ah: "It tastes like blood."

Dong Ah: "How do I look?" She twirls around wearing brightly colored traditional clothes

Director Kim: "Sit first."

Dong Ah: "This is silk. Do you want to take it off?"

Director Kim: "Later."

Dong Ah: "When you first talked about your fantasies, I didn't really get it. Then I tried taking it off at home. Whhooaaa!" Gives Director Kim two thumbs up.

Your Favorite Line/s by a Female Third Wheel Character

"Honestly the chestnuts were me but the cheesecake was some other bitch." - Yoon Seul 

    Seul is amazing and it's completely understandable why she's the best second lead female in dramaland. I knew that I would be choosing one of her lines for this question. She doesn't actually speak this line, she holds up a sign during Oska's concert with this written on it-it's probably one of my favorite scenes in Secret Garden. Oska has been trying to get back into Seul's good graces by getting her things that she likes or better yet what he thinks she likes but alas his playboy past catches up to him. He offers her chestnuts saying that he knows she likes them but he also offers her cheesecake which was something another girl favored. In the end, Seul decides to go back to Oska and lets him know via sign.

30 Day Korean Drama Challenge: Day 9

Your Favorite Line/s by a Male Third Wheel

   I'm halfway through 49 Days and the Scheduler is probably one of the best parts of the show. He provides a lot of comic relief in a drama that might have become bogged down by it's somewhat sad and depressing tone. He has a lot of great lines and this one is my favorite. The Scheduler died at 23 and took his current position to get a chance to live again. For five years he has watched the world and the people in it unnoticed as he takes the souls of those who have died to their afterlife. It's sad because he thinks this way after all he's seen but it's also sad because it's somewhat true.

30 Day Korean Drama Challenge: Day 8

Your Favorite Line/s by a Female Lead Character

     I couldn't decide on just one quote as my favorite so I chose two.

 This first quote may not make sense to you if you haven't watched Me Too, Flower! or know what it's about. Bong Sun is stuck in the past. Her inability to forgive has caused her to grow angry and cold as well as keep her from moving forward into her future. The bridge is a physical representation of her desire to move on with her life. I've always been fascinated by dreams and their meanings. I have had the same dream at least once every few weeks as far back as I can remember-I fall off from high place, usually a cliff of some sort, and I fall for a few minutes before I hit the ground. Yes, I hit the ground and I always have when I have this dream. .Falling in dreams supposedly means that the person has no control in their lives which is true in several areas of my mine. I really like the fact that she has externalized her emotions. Her dream is quite simple but accomplishing it is a bit more difficult.

   I know, I'm killing you with my Secret Garden obsession. This show has so many great lines that it's hard to resist using it. Another thing that I love about Secret Garden is how great the ending was. I felt completely satisfied by where the characters ended up which is sometimes not the case with other dramas. This is the line that Ra Im speaks at the end of the last episode.

Your Favorite Line/s by a Male Lead Character

     Most of my favorite quotes are from Secret Garden and spoken by Joo Won. My favorite lines from the show come from the letter that Joo Won writes to Ra Im and when he is sitting in the car with her before driving into the storm. There are a lot of fantastic lines in this show but the letter and car scene are my favorite because of their emotional poignancy. Joo Won is writing the letter after he decided to switch bodies with Ra Im so she could live while he entered an eternal slumber-basically giving up his life for her.
